OUR STORY
Welcome to the Koehn family's love for dogs, a story that began on a grain and livestock farm in the vast plains of Texas. Surrounded by animals, dogs were always a cherished part of our lives. In 2009, we followed our hearts and relocated to Northwest Oklahoma, embracing a life dedicated to animal husbandry and a profound interest in animal genetics.
Our fascination with Golden Retrievers grew after spending time with my sister's sweet companion, Mia. Witnessing her loving temperament and ideal family pet qualities, I delved into studying Golden Retrievers. Their versatility as service, therapy, and rescue dogs captivated me, and a chance encounter with a charming English Cream Golden Retriever puppy solidified my decision to focus on this remarkable breed.
Now, with my children older, my teenage daughter and I have eagerly embarked on the journey of raising puppies. Thorough research led us to a commitment to responsible breeding, emphasizing comprehensive testing and exceptional care. Our goals are high, but we firmly believe that only the best will suffice for our beloved dogs and their future families.
We take immense joy in helping you find the perfect puppy that complements your life, and we're excited to maintain a strong bond with you as we move forward together. Welcome to Rejoice Retrievers, where our mission is to elevate the breed and bring high-quality companion dogs to families filled with love and price. We are passionate about nurturing strong bonds between our puppies and their new families.
At Rejoice Retrievers, we believe in laying a solid foundation for each puppy's future. Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS), Early Scent Introduction (ESI), puppy culture, and the Empowered Breeder Advanced Curriculum, are ways in which we lay that foundation. This not only ensures that our puppies are well-adjusted and confident, but also enables them to excel in various roles, including service and therapy work, if desired.
In our pursuit of excellence, we continually strive to improve our breeding practices. Responsible breeding is our top priority, and we take comprehensive measures to address genetic concerns. To confront the prevalence of hip dysplasia, we rigorously test and breed accordingly. We focus on minimizing inbreeding while maintaining a diverse gene pool, ensuring healthier and genetically robust puppies.
In our commitment to responsible breeding, we DNA test all our dogs to rule out any signs of hereditary diseases. We go above and beyond by conducting Penn Hip testing, as well as OFA (Orthopedic Foundation for Animals) evaluations for eyes, heart, hips, and elbows. Rest assured that we prioritize the health and well-being of our dogs, ensuring they are suitable companions for your family.

OUR PROCESS
We take each of our puppies through a very monitored curriculum always watching for resource guarding and working with them accordingly. We teach them new things every day and how to handle new and different settings. After their vet visits and a few days before the puppies go home, we do a puppy evaluation with each puppy individually. While there is no perfect puppy this evaluation does help you to get a puppy that is more naturally suited for what you need. For example, if you are looking for a pet for your young children you would not want a puppy that doesn’t like to be handled. Some puppies naturally do not like to be handled and there are some that just love it. So, we recommend getting a puppy that loves to be touched and we know it will love to be with your kids.
We do not train the puppies but we do give them the best groundwork possible so they are ready for you to begin their training. We imprint the word yes in a very positive way that gives the puppy confidence and empowers them to be ready to work for you.
We give our dams and puppies special care every day and follow a strict deworming schedule.

Offer love and affection
If you buy a puppy from us we promise to offer a puppy with the best chance of fitting your family. From the time spent in selection to the health testing completed we want your family to have the best chance we can for a long and healthy long life for your pet. The puppies will be well socialized, used to different noises and sounds, empowered with the yes word, and evaluated to help you understand each puppy's personality. They are also all dewormed, vet checked, and will of had their first shots.
